Gharial conservation area
The gharial (Gavialis gangeticus), also known as the gavial or the fish-eating crocodile, is a crocodilian in the family Gavialidae and among the longest of all living crocodilians. Mature females are 2.6–4.5 m (8 ft 6 in–14 ft 9 in) long, and males 3–6 m (9 ft 10 in–19 ft 8 in). They have a distinct boss at the end of the snout, which resembles an earthenware pot known as a ghara, hence the name "gharial". The gharial is well adapted to catching fish because of its long, thin snout and 110 sharp, interlocking teeth.

Elephant Safari/Jeep safari
The elephant safari is one of the best ways to spot wildlife from up close. Because the elephants can come close to other animals without them noticing that there are people on the elephants back, you can come up to 1 meter from other animals.
During the trip, you are never alone. The rider sits in the front and next to him; you are always accompanied by professional guides and naturalists.
One-Horned Rhino
Poaching of greater one-horned rhinos for horns to sell on the international market as a bogus ‘miracle cure’ is an ongoing threat to this magnificent species. Their horns are very valuable on the black market, despite being much smaller than African rhino horns, and despite bans on trade by the Nepali and Indian governments and globally by CITES (the international treaty aiming to protect species by regulating trade).
The lowland grasslands, swamps and meadows favored by rhinos also represent prime grazing for cattle and very fertile cultivable land. As a result, these habitats have become densely populated by people.
Elephant Breeding Center
At Elephant Breeding Center, you will get various information on the nature and habits of elephants. The center was established in 1985 for the captive breeding of domesticated elephant trapping for domestication. Located in Sauraha the Elephant breeding center was set up to protect the endangered elephants in the region. There are often many baby elephants there and a small museum. The center is walkable from Sauraha but it will take 1 hour depending on the heat and road conditions. Tours or rickshaw transport are available part of the way.
